Orion poops parties, I wouldn't be without him, or Cynn.
The henchies are amazing. I once got killed in the crystal desert. Left alive were Alesia, Lina, and Dunham versus a drake and three scarabs. Took Dunham a while, but with the help of the monks he killed 'em all! Only then did Alesia feel it was safe to resurrect me!
I often notice that when I am a caster at range the henchies do a lot better. They work together as a team very well.

Yeah I have noticed that too. I think it is because the monks tend to flock around you. And if you are running up to do melee they are more likely to get aggro. Where as if you stay in back casting they tend to hang back too making them not get attacked as quick.

I find all the henchmen tend to come in useful for certain situations, however I do prefer the tanks over the casters (excluding healers of course). But one I will never EVER take again is Reyna who doesnt seem to do anything at all, and even if she does decide she has the strength to pull back on her bow string I can barely see any dmg she inflicts. Much better to use up that place in the party with someone else. If I actually had to pay her then it would give me great satisfaction to tell her "YOU'RE FIRED!!!!!!!" (although more like Vince McMahon than Donald Trump style )

Orion couldnt hit an enemy with fire-storm if he was standing lol. The Ele Henchmen move like in slow-motion or something. As soon as I kill someone I see fire-storm. I think orion is just making sure they r truly dead.

I don't quite get the Reyna-bashing, I almost always take her. She doesn't screw up the aggro with any AoE stuff, at least. I haven't been able to figure out anything Dunham does other than cast distortion a lot. And I do wish Alesia would leave the tanking to Stefan and Little Thom.
Anyone know where I can get Big Thom?

Claude is definately the greatest. He uses his elite so well! I've seen him use it one whole time. It was a beautiful sight that I shall never forget.

Once in the HOH we had a player err=7 and ended up with a Fighter Henchmen. We were up against a Korean team, who took us out...but left the hench alive. He resed our monk, who then used Light of Dwayna, and we ended up winning the match.

I like Reyna as well, weak, but consistent damage output, and usually stays out of trouble.
Dunham casts Empathy, which can do fair amount of damage especially against melee heavy mobs. He also casts Imagined Burden which is not completely useless ( ^ ^) paired with Cynn or Orion..
..
Personally I don't like the end-game henchmen, just because they are characters from the story line. Plus, Mhenlo looks like a zombie, Eve has no 'character' as such compared to good ol' Little Thom. Cynn is plain borind. Devona... uh... maybe original with a hammer but not very stylish. I liked level 20 Alesia and Stephan much more..

Stefan does what mhenlo is supposed to do. Run away from the action and watch us struggle instead of tanking. Now guess what Mhenlo does (hint: it's NOT healing).

What skills does Dunham use besides Empathy and Distortion? Does he interrupt at all? It feels like it does every once a while?

Only just playing through the game for the first time, using henchies for the majority of quests and missions. Only paired up with one other person to do the pre searing missions.
I think the henchies are OK, Orion is quite usefull when I am at the back at range. If I target the closer one he does from time to time get firestorm off and it keeps the others away from us long enough to dish out some damage.
What I don't like about all of them is their ability to be so dumb! You walk into an swamp, which poisions you, you walk nicely on the paths when available and your henchies just wade their way through the swamp.
I am sure Reyna has resurrected alesia on several occasions?
I wish there was a way that prior to setting out with henchies, that you could populate their skill bar for them. Even having a sub section for henchie armor and weapons would be good too, and adjust their skills i.e. claude you could put all his skills into death for your MM.
Oh well, off we go again.. "Tom, don't you cross your arms at me young man...."

Dunham just did it again. This time fresh out of the Lion's Arch. He empathied a helpless lynx on sight for absolutely no reason.
I think I like this guy.

Dunham is good to take around Grenth and Sorrow's Furnace. You can really feel the difference if you go from 5 man party to 6 with Dunham. My typical henchman party for Grenth is me (Monk/Mesmer), Devona/Thom, Dunham, Lina, Aidan.
I've made it into Furnace past the crushers with 4 henchmen, including Dunham, but pulling groups of 3 in Furnace is hard.. so it's a bit frustrating once you start getting DP.
Also Dunham never dies or gets swarmed as much as guildwiki.org's related page makes it sound like.
Of course, if you can't lure/pull, henchmen will always "sux".
